A tranquil, gorgeously composed, quite large limited edition print by American artist Will Barnet. The print is pencil signed, titled, dated (1980) and numbered (256/300) by the artist. This is one of Barnet's most sought after images. Clearly, a standout work. The print has been professionally framed. Framed dimensions: 30" H, 45.5" W, 1.75" D Barnet studied at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts School and then at the Art Students League in New York. They combine the emotive possibilities of abstract expressionism with the quick punch of words to deliver their message, and for all the macho grist of their making, and often overwhelming scale, they somehow express a frailty that hints at the human condition. As Miller has said: “Painting is the worst medium to express narrative, but perhaps the best to hit a nerve”. Harland Miller was born in Yorkshire in 1964. He has lived in New York and Berlin and currently lives and works in London. The images, captured digitally, are then printed via a 4-color screen printing process. Each color separation is screen printed and then smeared while the ink is still wet, foregrounding a handmade process that involves tactility, registration, wetness, and specificity of touch.
