Japanese Antique Stone Display Stand / Objet / Before 1868s / Wabi-Sabi Mingei

About the Item

This is an old stone stand in Japan. I don't know the details if it was used as a stand for beating straw, but it seems to be before the end of the Edo period. The round silhouette, which is carefully made by human hands, changes to a natural appearance over time, and the unevenness of the surface expresses a sense of three-dimensionality. It is good to use it as an exhibition stand, but it is a simple and beautiful shape, so you can also decorate it as it is. In contrast to the rustic appearance, it may be nice to decorate modern items such as accessories. Weight: 17.6kg
