Chinese Export Porcelain Bowl Hand Painted Famille Rose, Qing Ca 1780
About the Item
This is a hand painted Chinese export bowl from the late 18th century, Qing dynasty, Qianlong period, 1736-1795. We date this piece to circa 1780.
The bowl is well potted on mid height foot, all made from a very white porcelain.
It is well hand decorated with different and continuous floral sprig arrangements, over-glaze in many different coloured polychrome enamels, based on the famille rose palette. The rim of the bowl has a cafe-au-lait brown finish and there is a double ring border below the inner rim hand painted in red.
This bowl would have been made in China for the European export market, the style of decoration being typical of that found on many English and other European manufacturers around this time such as Worcester, Coalport, Spode etc.
The bowl is unmarked to the base.
