Chinese Export Porcelain Large Bowl Hand Painted Famille Rose, Qing Ca 1750
About the Item
This is a beautifully hand painted large Chinese export bowl from the mid 18th century, Qing dynasty, Qianlong period, 1736-1795. We date this piece to circa 1750.
The bowl is well potted on mid height foot, all made from a very white porcelain.
It is finely hand decorated with many different flowers, large and small, both in underglaze blue and over-glaze in many different coloured polychrome enamels, based on the famille rose palette and with gilded detail. The flowers emanate from a rocky base by a fence or trellis in a verandah setting. The central base of the inner bowl is also decorated with flowers and the inner rim has a of the bowl has a cafe-au-lait brown finish and there is a double ring border below the inner rim hand painted in red. The quality of the hand painting is high and colours include, blue, green, yellow, salmon, burnt orange, pink, aubergine and white plus gold gilded detail.
The bowl is unmarked to the base.
Overall a beautifully hand painted, striking Chinese Bowl from the Qianlong period of the 18th century.
