Late 19th Century Chinese Elmwood Wine Table

About the Item

This antique Shanxi Elmwood wine table with double stretchers on the sides has excellent proportions and patina. The humpback stretchers on the front and back curves elegantly and there's also a very nice beading on the aprons. The legs are quite thick, measuring 5.7-5.8cm wide, they are rounded around the front and sides and flat on the inside. Drinks would be served on this table with seats around it, it would be a place to entertain and host your guests. There are some burn marks on this table, most likely caused by oil lamps used when activities stretch late into the night. This is in a matte finish, and the only repair done was to the joints to make sure they are rigid.
