Mitamura Jiho 三田村自芳 Ivy Makie Lacquer Paper Box 290(W)× 130(H) × 365(D) [mm] He have studied makie under Akatsuka Jitoku, the 8th master of the Edo makie Akatsuka school He is an unfamiliar and unusual artist. Beautiful ivy makie arranged in a well-balanced manner The inside and bottom are finished with Nashiji (fine powder makie) A "paper box" is a box for storing washi paper used for calligraphy, etc. The box itself appears to have been made by someone called "宗哉" The makie is done by "Jiho 自芳". With a box, Signed on the back of the lid
