A Chinese silver inlaid bronze lidded ritual vessel modeled after a late Shang dynasty, 1600-1046 BC original. Of Classic form, with ring handles, the surface covered with inlaid Archaistic designs. The silver mixed with verdigris patina give this piece a striking look. One of a group of recently acquired Chinese Archaistic bronzes, three have this wonderful silver inlay.
