Japanese Antiques iron paulownia design crest lantern lamp Toro
About the Item
φ170× 400(H) [mm] 2kg
Antique iron lantern with a beautiful antique feel. Two sides are carefully decorated with paulownia leaf designs.
Kitaoji Rosanjin (a very famous designer and potter) was probably inspired by these iron lanterns and came up with his own lantern design.
It appears that they were used with a shoji screen pasted on the inside.
The first photo was taken with a blank sheet of paper placed inside.
