Japanese Bronze Bottle Vase Takeuchi Sei

About the Item

Exceptional Japanese Meiji period bronze bottle vase. The vase of squashed globular form with a long stem neck and rounded rim. Boldly decorated throughout the entire exterior with raised blossoming flowers stood in a woven basket. To the opposing side a Japanese wave decorated vase with great detail with a cherry blossom tree. The neck with geometric patterns and a greek key boarder towards the top rim. The base signed with Takeuchi renowned signature and patent number 2211815. A very rare example by a master craftsman with amazing detail. Notes Takeuchi Sei (Chubei) was a cloisonné artist from Aichi Prefecture renowned for his cloisonné works on both porcelain and metal. His works were exhibited and awarded in the Naikoku Kangyo Hakurankai (National Industrial Expositions).
