Japanese Antique Wooden Wabi-Sabi Board/Wall Hanging Board/Table Top/1868-1920
Located in Sammu-shi, Chiba
We have an aesthetic sense peculiar to Japanese people. And we introduce the unique items that only we can do, the route of purchasing in Japan, the experience value so far, and the way that no one can imitate. It is a work board used by Japanese farmers from the Meiji era to the early Showa era (around 1868-1920). It is a board used in Showa village in the Aizu region of Fukushima prefecture in Japan. What kind of board is this? It is a tool for cutting hemp and scraping off its stem to leave only the fibers of the skin. In other words, it is a board for making hemp strings. This village has a history of growing and farming hemp for over 600 years. It is made of cedar wood, but it has withered after many years of use It's very cool. It is a tool that can only be found in this village. It's very valuable. You can also enjoy it as an exhibition Stand or table top. You can also hang it on the wall and enjoy it like a painting. The wood is in good condition with almost no warping or twisting. In Japan, such things are becoming less and less common. We believe that it is our Mission to convey the charm of such old things and keep them. Also, we are the only ones in 1st dibs who deal with such old Japanese things. It is a highly recommended Wabi-Sabi board! Size: Hanging on the wall W47cm D7.5cm H91cm Weight: 9.2kg. The vases displayed in this photo and the flower vases for wall...
