Antique Chinese Spinach Jade Snuff Bottle

About the Item

A Spinach Jade Snuff Bottle, Qing Dynasty. The flattened ovoid form symmetrically rendered from a waxy spinach green speckled nephrite stone having a high shoulder and short stout round neck, with the countersunk mouth having a narrow aperture. The flat narrow base concave bearing a carved 3 character studio mark. The stopper of coral and vinyl collar attached to a cork with evidence of a previous ivory spoon. Condition: The stopper top with one small filled divot otherwise excellent condition. Overall Measurements: 2.5 in. high x 1.75 in. wide x 0.75 in. deep (6.4 x 4.5 x 2 cm). Weight: 3 oz. (861g.) Age: 19th century. Provenance: Doyle New York, Asian Works of Art 3/22/2023, lot 42.
