An antique Chiang Mai wood mythical guardian animal from Thailand. Carved in Chiang Mai, Northern Thailand, this mythical guardian animal attracts our attention with its striking features and polychrome finish. Made of old wood, the animal showcases a fierce roaring face, teeth and tongues visible and perfectly highlighted by a yellow, green and red polychromy. The removable head is resting on a body with matching colors. Made to guard the entrance of a temple and said to reside in the Himavanta Forest at the base of the mythical Mount Meru, this Thai mythical guardian animal will make for a great conversation piece in any home!
