About the Item

Pair of kibana, carved wooden ornaments used in Japanese Buddhist temples, carved in the shape of mythical lion-like creatures called shishi. Period: Meiji late 19th cent. Dimensions: 21 x 32 x 20 cm. Conservation status: Excellent condition. Slight wear consistent with the era is present.
