About the Item
This is a beautiful pair of wrought iron French firedogs forged, circa 1860.
These andirons are perfectly suited for a large fireplace.
They stand upon a tripod with forward arched legs and feature spit racks both on the front as on the back side.
On top sits a bottleholder with typical French 'fleur-de-lis' ornaments.
The firedogs were forged by a highly skilled blacksmith and are full of character. It has solid joints and construction and are ready to use.
