About the Item

Architectual copper relief panel designed by Frank Lloyd Wright for Price Tower, 1956. Original Verdigris Patina. The Price Tower, Frank Lloyd Wright's only realized skyscraper was clad in oxidised copper relief panels along with copper louvers. The design element of the relief panel echoed throughout the building in the forms seen in the chairs, tables, stools, mouldings and other furniture trim designed for the building. The relief panels were not only architectual elements of the building's exterior but were also used within the interior. This is one of the interior examples that was deaccessioned when the building was converted into a hotel in the early part of the 21st Century. The Price Tower continues to be one of the most compelling and inspiring projects in Frank Lloyd Wright's 70 year career as an architect.
