The Louis XIII: A Classical Stone Fireplace in the Style of the Louis XIII Era

About the Item

The Louis XIII Stone Fireplace is inspired by architecture and design during the reign of King Louis XIII of France (1610 - 1641). The molding through the legs and first lintel is classic, with a combination of straight and curved sections. This classic style continues into the second lintel, with a solid taller span of molding, gently curving in on the sides and front, to meet the shelf piece at the top, which then flares back out to either side. Below the legs are square block plinths, with a faceted carved design on the front to give them an added touch of elegance. This fireplace would look beautiful in either a limestone or a marble, and works perfectly in a Living Room, Great Room, Study, or even a Primary Bedroom. Custom sizes are available.

The molding around the curving opening features more curves in the profile. Ornate legs turn out at 45 degrees, with a smaller scrolled detail at the top, followed by a carved shell, and then into another larger scrolling, curved section...
