The block was only large enough to make two fireplaces, making each of these quite rare mantels.
A classic bolection style fireplace with a gently moulded frame on plain square plinths, carved in the solid from a beautiful old block of marble quarried over 100 years ago.
The solid pieces of nicely veined marble have markings that flow in an eye-pleasing fashion.
