About the Item
Life Size Bronze of a nude Bacchus statue God of wine, revelry and ecstasy. He is associated with the cultivation of the grapevine, the process of winemaking and festivals. Bacchus, the god of wine, holds cymbals, in his stretched out hands. On the back of his neck, straddling his head, sits a Pan figure, feeding Bacchus grapes.
The god's left leg is attached to a tree trunk which is topped with a sheep's pelt and head, and decorated with pan's flute, a club, grapes and grape leaves. Overall in very good condition weathered from being in a garden for many years, a great patina.
