Mid-19th Century French Copper Repousse Chateau Grape Gathering Basket

About the Item

Originally used for wine ceremonies at a chateau vineyard in Burgundy, France, this very large mid-nineteenth century hand hammered copper repousse grape gathering basket stands at an impressive 34.5 inches in height. It features two coats of arms in the center, one with sheaves of wheat and the other with a rose. Above the coats of arms is a crown and below is a dragon.
