Beautiful and large, vintage Murano hand blown black, grey and gold flecks Italian art glass centerpiece bowl. Documented to designer Alfredo Barbini, circa 1950-60s. They have an oval shape, with folded rim indents at the sides. The bowls are profusely covered in heavy gold leaf throughout the top and bottom of the pieces. Very unusual color combination. Would make a great display piece on any side table, console or credenza. Use it as a catchall, or candy dish. Mid-century era. Again, there are 2 bowls. Last photo shows both bowls that are available. If you have a preference, please be sure to let me know which bowl you would like to purchase. Measurements: 10” long x 8 1/4” wide x 3” high.

Alfredo Barbini
Alfredo Barbini (1912–2007), a glass artist born in 1912 on the islands of Murano in the lagoon of Venice, Italy, was one of Murano's leading figures of the 20th century. His parents were members of families, which had been prominent in the glassmaking industry on Murano for generations as glassblowers and beadmakers.
