About the Item

Daum France designed this stunning crystal ashtray, catchall, or decorative bowl. The piece was crafted in France circa 1970. The mouth-blown, transparent crystal design features a heavy, square shape with blue and turquoise modernist pâte de verre inlay. The desk tidy is marked on the side edge with the acid-etched "Daum - France" mark. Dimensions: 4.75 in wide (12 cm) by 4.75 in deep (12 cm) by 2.57 in high (6.5 cm). Reference: Daum, the legendary glassmaker master, has kept alive for more than a century a love relationship with the greatest artists of its time, giving their works of art a second life in crystal and color. From the École de Nancy, from Art Nouveau to Art Décoratif, from Majorelle to Dali, Arman, and Hilton McConnico, Daum has not missed any of the magic Rendez-Vous of the artistic creation and modern savoir-faire, which has renewed the alliance of art and art craft. Few brands have collaborated with as many artists: for nearly 140 years, more than 350 prominent signatures have contributed to a heritage beyond compare, a unique collection. (Credit: Daum Website)
