Georg Jensen Large Frequency Bowl by Kelly Wearstler

$169per item

About

By taking the movement of the ocean and capturing it in shiny stainless steel, designer Kelly Wearstler brings both beauty and craftsmanship to the striking Frequency bowl. The shallow circular bowl stands on undulating ribbons of steel, reflecting light but also creating a sense of movement and fluidity. The piece is perfect for holding fruit or treasured objects but its sculptural shape is equally eye-catching just standing alone. American designer Kelly Wearstler is world-famous for her opulent and sophisticated interiors of hotels, restaurants and homes. Working with Georg Jensen for the first time, she created the Frequency collection which captures the raw beauty of Californian nature and expresses it in steel with results that are both dramatic and minimal. The large sized Frequency bowl is expertly crafted from stainless steel and polished to a mirror-like finish.

About The Maker

With a history that spans more than 100 years, the Georg Jensen brand represents quality craftsmanship and timeless aesthetic design, producing lifestyle products ranging from hollowware to watches, jewelry and home products. The philosophy of Georg Jensen himself was to create democratic designs possessing both functionality and beauty. His artisanal skill and artistic talent combined with his continuous ability to identify and support design talent was the foundation on which he built Georg Jensen in Copenhagen in 1904. Georg Jensen’s style embraced the Art Nouveau lines of the day but injected them with a distinctive vigor that continues to resonate today. Serene flowing forms are enriched by exquisitely sculpted ornamentation and his stylized bouquets of flowers and lush bunches of grapes reflect his sensual delight in nature. Our most important task is to leverage the ideas and principles of the master himself and translate these into the design of the present day.
