Large 2002 Peter Petrochko Signed Amorphic Bowl of Layered Hickory
About the Item
A Peter Petrochko amorphic bowl of layered hickory, signed and dated 2002 underneath. From the "Tent Series'.
Bending notions of traditional vessel making, Petrochko blends amorphous form with a geometric foundation. Petrochko's Tent Series is directly inspired by the sculptural tents of Bill Moss, an artist and designer who, inspired by the adaptable and efficient design systems in nature, reshaped (literally and figuratively) the design standards of camping tents.
Petrochoko's work can be found in public collections around the country, including:
Museum of Fine Arts - Boston, MA
The White House Permanent Collection of American Crafts - Washington DC
Yale University - New Haven, CT
Minneapolis Institute of Arts - Minneapolis, MN
