About the Item

A pair of wooden water vessels with lovely old repairs from the early 20th century, Tamil Nadu, South India. This pair of antique wooden buckets from South India, originally used as water dippers, have been hand carved from a single piece of wood, have rounded bodies which taper down towards their bottom. There are wonderful old repairs/mending, which we feel adds so much character to these pieces, with their dark wood and rich patina. These Tamil Nadu buckets, from the early 20th century, are a great way to create a beautifully rustic touch within a room, used on their own, or as storage pieces for holding smaller objects.
