Wilhelm Kåge Blue Bowl in Stoneware from 1958, Gustavsberg, Sweden. Wilhelm Kåge's bowl with a gently octagonal form, blue glaze, and relief decor. It was designed in 1958 at his Gustavsberg studio. A brilliant art piece from the Swedish mid-century! Wilhelm Kåge designed many classics for the Swedish Gustavsberg company. Some of the most well-known objects are those with KAPA marks. The design was a collaboration with his three colleagues in the studio: Björn Alskog, Axel Pettersson, and Birger Arvidsson.On the bottom of the bowl, the pieces is marked KAPA from the first letters in the surnames: Kåge, Alskog, Pettersson, and Arvidsson. The bowl has small signs of wear from use.
