Tommaso Barbi bowl / The Scallop Shaped vide-poche in White Glazed Ceramic, 70s

About the Item

A Vide Poche made in Italy around the 70s produced and designed by Tommaso Barbi, as can be seen from the signature engraved on the back of the item. Tommaso Barbi's production is unmistakable, inspired by the Californian aesthetic and the Hollywood Regency style. Tommaso Barbi's items are opulent and extremely decorative, there is never a lack of a strong contrast between the materials used; natural fibers such as bamboo and wicker, dialogue with plexiglass and with shiny metals such as brass and chrome. Great attention to detail and shapes inspired by nature, but a nature more beautiful than real, glossy and glamorous; just think of his lamps with the shape of an imaginary Rhubarb or Ginko plant or as in the case of the object we propose a bowl with the shape of the most iconic of sea shells: The scallop shell. This Vintage vide poche is made of white glazed ceramic fully reproducing this precious type of shell with a ridged valve. The conditions of this item are good, it has a small sign on the umbo that you can see in the photos in the video. Reach out for any additional questions.
