About the Item

19th century Swedish hand painted oak strong box circa 1820. We are pleased to offer this beautiful box, which has many uses around the home. Made from solid oak, featuring original hand painted decoration around the front, sides and to the lid.  Complete with original ornate metalwork, hinges and lock.  Box opens to reveal a hand printed paper lined interior.  Key works, but is a lock you need to learn how to use with a slow turn. Expected fading and minor old restorations to woodwork.  Great quality piece.
