Fully Lined Interior From our Jewellery Box collection, we are pleased to offer this Antique Mahogany Watch Box. The Watch Box of slender rectangular form made from solid Mahogany with brass strapping decorating the exterior with a central shaped vacant initial plaque to the lid and brass escutcheon. Each side of the Watch Box features a small brass latch for keeping the lid secure when locked or unlocked. The interior of the Watch Box is lined in royal blue cushioned silk velvet to both the base and inner lid with twelve watch compartments and a large central compartment. The Antique Mahogany Watch Box dates to the late Victorian period circa 1890 and is a perfect gift for any watch enthusiast. Measurements (inches) 3.75 High x 17.1 Wide x 8 Deep The Jewellery Box comes complete with working lock and tasselled key Mahogany is the name given to many types of tropical hardwood and can be found in Africa, India and South America, most of which are a red-brown colour with a fine, even grain. This makes it easily workable and gives it a durable finish which attributes to its popularity with many kinds of furniture. Victorian an era of British History corresponding approximately with the reign of Queen Victoria from the 20th of June 1837 until her death on 22 January 1901 however, there are arguments stating that the Victorian era is actually from 1820 until 1914 proceeded by Georgian era and followed by the Edwardian era.
