About the Item
A fine antique English figural silver box or tea caddy.
In sterling silver.
Made by Neresheimer and imported to England by Berthold Muller.
(Berthold Muller & Son was an important English house that imported and sold high-level Hanau silver from the workshop of Ludwig Neresheimer and Co.)
In the form of a seated pig. The head is a removable lid.
With Berthold Muller hallmarks to the right shoulder and Neresheimer hallmarks to the pig's derriere.

Condition Details:
There is a noticeable dent to the pig's left shoulder. Otherwise, there is some light edge wear, some light dings and indentations here and there, some fine and light surface scratches, and other signs of light wear consistent with age.

This exceptional antique Edwardian sterling silver vesta box has been realistically modelled in the form of a pig.
This impressive Edwardian vesta case is embellished with details replicating the features of the pig's skin and anatomical features.
The back of the pig incorporates a hallmarked hinged cover with a textured match striker to the anterior surface.
The interior of the cover of this exceptional silver box is gilded.
Condition
This antique Edwardian vesta case is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. Full hallmarks including the foreign manufacture mark struck to the underside of the body are very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the exceptional gauge of silver. The maker's mark has wear in keeping with location.

An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Georgian English sterling silver locking tea caddy; an addition to our silver teaware collection
This exceptional antique Georgian sterling silver tea caddy has a cylindrical form.
The upper and lower portions of this Aesthetic style silver tea caddy is embellished with bands of bright cut engraved floral bud designs; further vertical bands segment the body into five equal portions, each encompassed with undulating wrigglework borders.
The anterior portion of the body is ornamented with a bright cut engraved rectangular cut cornered cartouche encompassed with a radiating simplified floral and scrolling foliate decoration and featuring the contemporary engraved crest of a lion's head collared and erased.
The further four segments bear Chinoiserie bright cut engraved Chinese symbols representing the four seasons: spring (? / chun), summer (? / xia), autumn (? / qiu) and winter (? / dong).
This antique silver tea caddy retains the original hallmarked flush hinged cover; the flush hinge indicates the fine quality of this piece.
The cover is encompassed with further bands of bright cut engraved decoration, reflecting the designs to the body.
