This is an antique loose tea caddy. An English, mahogany and velvet dual compartment case, dating to the Regency period, circa 1820. Beautiful Regency craftsmanship with a superb visual appeal Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order Select stocks present fine grain interest throughout Rich caramel hues beam beneath the wax polish finish Pleasingly thick lid opens to reveal a pair of canisters Each enclosed with a flip-top lid with recessed touch point Central mixer compartment accommodating a glass up to 10cm in diameter (4'') Fascia dressed with an inset lock — in working order, key present Brass drop handles to either side, over pierced foliate backplates Standing upon a quartet of squat bun feet This is an attractive antique loose tea caddy, with an elegant appearance and a treat for tea lovers. Solid joints and construction, delivered ready for the home.
