About the Item
A wonderful and most elegant pair of French 19th century Louis XV st. Vert de Patricia marble and Ormolu candelabras. Each truly stunning eight arm candelabra is raised by three 'C' scrolled Ormolu legs with pawed feet atop a triangular mottled edge marble base with concave sides and an Ormolu base plate. The urn shaped marble body with carved panels on all sides is secured by scrolling Ormolu foliate decorations that extend upwards from each of the three legs below. Between the three Ormolu foliate decorations are inverted floral Ormolu bouquets tied off at the top and below six scrolling foliate reserves above. The Ormolu top cap is tastefully designed with a foliate decorated rim and spiraling fluted movements leading upward to the elaborate candelabra. The candelabra is designed similar to an acanthus leaf spray which introduces the eight wandering scrolling arms that are all accompanied by foliate bobeches and rounded foliate designed candle cups.
