A stunning pair of period Empire gilt patinated brass and bronze candelabras. Born in France in the early 19th century, fine quality and detailing, elaborately decorated, unique design, likely Parisian, with strong classical era influence. The impressive antiques, circa 1810, present superbly, rich, regal, and interesting, each featuring a central sculpted ormolu flame motif finial, surmounting tripartite fanciful foliate scroll flowing into three arm candle holder, over bold and luxurious emerald green vasiform tapered bulbous urn form standard adorned with textured classical wreath and ribbon dore bronze mounts, flanked by ornately detailed finely chiseled and sculptured dore bronze figural goat bust handles, atop elaborately decorated plinth, with figural lion head ormolu embellishment, gilt beaded trim running ornamentation, rising on gold gilt molded stepped base. Elegant, sophisticated and stylish. Dimensions (each, approx): 22.5"H, 7.5"W. 7"D Base 4.125"x 4.125" Provenance: Acquired from the estate of the late T. Boone Pickens (1928-2019). An American business magnate, billionaire, financier, and philanthropist. Acquisition: J. Garrett Auctioneers had the pleasure of presenting Pickens' collection of 18th and 19th Century furnishings and accessories. This piece comes from the iconic Texas and Oklahoma oil tycoons Dallas home. The breadth of T. Boone Pickens' career is impressive. He built one of the largest independent natural gas oil companies in the United States and flourished as an entrepreneur thereafter, generating hundreds of billions of dollars in the process. Among his lengthy accolades, Time magazine has identified him one of its "100 Most Influential People", Financial World named him "CEO of the Decade" in 1989, and Oil and Gas Investor identified him as one of the "100 Most Influential People of the Petroleum Century."
