About the Item

We offer for sale a pair of candelabras made in Italy during the mid-20th century, whose design strongly harks back to Northern Europe. This pair of brass candelabras has two candle holders each, connected to each other by a gilded and smooth rope that twists on itself as if to perform the steps to make a knot. The materials used, the finishes and the theme of the "knot" might make you think of the famous candelabra designed by Josef Frank "The Knot of Friendship", but in reality, doing research, we came across the Candelieri T8 designed by Piero De Vecchi for the Triennale Exhibition in Milan in 1947 and there was no longer any doubt about the clear Italian origins of this piece. Coming from a Roman house, these candelabras were cleaned of the wax residues of the thousand candles lit using them and passed a specific protective product for brass. Stable and solid, they show imperfections visible in the photo, on the candle holder caps that have mini cuts on the sheet. Each candelabra has the following measurements: Width 31cm Height 28.5 cm Depth 13cm I love the design of this pair of vintage candelabras for their high decorative power, a well-balanced simpering with those curly golden arabesques, remaining essential and very elegant. Reach out for any additional questions.
