About the Item

Set of Three Antique Gilded Italian Three-Flame Candlesticks From the Late 1700s in carved poplar wood. This exceptional and rare triptych of tall candlesticks has the octagonal base on which rests a large fluted vase, bacellate rim, and a large central festoon. Floral and leaf decorations laterally enrich the vase, which culminates in three candle-holder arms. Since they are designed for altar decoration they are carved and gilded only on the front, the back is finished with yellow Sienna earth. In excellent state of preservation with beautiful gilding in fine gouache gold, apart from the minor shortcomings in the gilding of one candlestick, documented in the image gallery, they are ideal for interior lighting, to be transformed into exclusive and important table lamp bases. Two sheet metal bobeges are missing. Northern Italy, second half of the 1700s. Height: 72 cm Width: 32 cm Depth: 17 cm The Triptych is shipped from Italy, by current Italian law, every antique must have a government export license, called Belle Arti. The time for application and issuance of this license takes 2 to 3 weeks to be added to the shipping time.
