Fine pair of Renaissance style patinated bronze candle holders in the manner of Edward F. Caldwell, late 19th century. Original medium brown patina with beautiful age appropriate sheen, excellent details. The capitals decorated with urn and foliate motifs, the stem knobed with rosette border and stylized scrolled elements, circular base with bold foliage, garlands and textured background on three wide scrolled feet. Edward F. Caldwell & Co was established in 1895 in New York City at 31 East 17th Street and quickly became one of the premier designers and manufacturers of fine lighting and decorative objects.
