About the Item

A set of three fossil and tessellated stone “ruins” candlesticks by Renoir Designs, late 20th century. This postmodern trio emulates the neoclassical sensibilities of Ancient Greece and Rome while firmly boasting a postmodern aesthetic in embracing the dystopian element of ruins which is here laid bare in the design of the candlesticks. Made in the Philippines and imported through California at the end of the twentieth century, these pieces perhaps nod toward an approaching “fin de siècle” sentiment, accepting - even glorifying - a collapse rather than shying away from it. Pick up in central west Los Angeles or we ship worldwide. Small: 2.5” W x 2.5” D x 6.25” H Medium: 2.75” W x 2.75” D x 8.25” H Large: 3” W x 3” D x 10.25” H
