About the Item

Jaeger-LeCoultre, founded in 1833 by Antoine LeCoultre in Switzerland, is a prestigious manufacturer of watches and clocks. In 1903, Jacques-David LeCoultre partnered with Edmond Jaeger to create the Jaeger-LeCoultre brand. The Atmos clock, invented in 1928 by Jean-Léon Reutter and commercialized in 1930, operates using temperature variations that power its mechanism, with no need for electricity or winding. A single degree of temperature change powers the clock for 48 hours, making it a "perpetual" timepiece. A symbol of Swiss precision and elegance, the Atmos is known as "The President’s Clock." Figures like Queen Elizabeth II, Churchill, and Kennedy owned one. Circa 1940. Made of chromed metal, the clock rests on a chromed metal base and features a glazed wooden case. The dial is open in the center, revealing the mechanism, with a silvered ring and Art Deco-style Arabic numerals. Has been serviced by a professional watchmaker and is in good condition. Bears the label “Made in Switzerland” and is signed on the base “Jaeger-LeCoultre” and “Atmos Brevets Reutter.” Dimensions  H : 23.5 cm W : 19 cm D : 14 cm                                                                              H: 23.5 cm W: 19 cm D: 14 cm
