About the Item

A wonderful original antique French bronze wall clock by Sté des Ouvriers Horlogers, circa 1920. Found by our buyer in a long derelict workshop it has been worn by years of neglect with a wonderful patina of tarnish and rust. The mellow bronze finish is speckled with tarnish and the once fine blued steel hands rusty. Originally a mechanical movement, this was mostly missing, our clockmaker has skillfully fitted a modern battery quartz movement for reliability, retaining the original hands and winding shaft. Hands are cut and blued steel with a lovely original patina, the dial being painted zinc steel. We have carefully cleaned and clear-coated the clock to lock in the patina. Dimensions : 15 3/4" diameter, 4 1/2" in height.
