Original French Revillon Chocolate Advertising Wall Clock, Fully Working
About the Item
A wonderful original Révillon Chocolatier tole advertising clock, circa 1920. Found by our buyer in a long derelict French bar it has been worn by years of neglect with a wonderful ancient craquelure and a patina of paint loss and rust. The fine steel hands coated in decades of rust.
Originally a mechanical movement by the famed maker Japy Freres, this was mostly missing, our clockmaker has skillfully fitted a modern battery quartz movement, retaining the original hands and winding shaft. Hands are cut and blued steel with a lovely original rusty patina, the dial being painted and enameled steel, deformed, bent and rusty. We have carefully cleaned and clear-coated the clock to lock in the patina Dimensions: 23" high, 17 1/2" wide, 3" deep.
