About the Item
Our client's large antique (19th century) French inkwell in the Empire style features vessel lids depicting the emperor Napoleon and his queen and is centered by a finely modeled and cast bust of Juliet Recamier (1777-1849) after the original terracotta bust sculpted by Joseph Chinard (1756-1813) in 1801. 22 1/4 by 8 1/2 by 10 inches. 28 lbs. Apparently unsigned.
