About the Item

Art Object by Noti Massari and Renato Toso The artwork, titled Un vaso-scultura Kafka (1991), is a Murano glass sculpture created by the renowned design duo Noti Massari and Renato Toso produced by the exclusive Murano glas Manufacture Barovier & Toso. The studio Renato Toso, Noti Massari & Associati was founded in 1966 by Renato Toso and Noti Massari in Murano, later joined by their children Anna, Marco, Pio, and Tito. Renato Toso was born in Murano in 1940, and Giovanna Noti Massari in Venice in 1939. Both studied architecture in Venice and married in 1968. Toso and Noti Massari share a deep passion for the creative process and design methodology. Their work spans architecture, furniture, renovation, and product design. They played a crucial role in the founding of Leucos, a lighting brand born from their lifelong passion for glassmaking, cultivated in Toso father´s glassworks (Fratelli Toso), where tiles, glass objects, lamps, and modular elements were crafted. They have participated in numerous conferences and exhibitions, lecturing at universities and art institutes in Venice, Castelfranco Veneto, Longarone, and Treviso. Their exhibitions include solo shows at Cavallino, Palazzo Grassi, and Querini Stampalia in Venice, as well as group exhibitions at the Louvre in Paris, MoMA, and Corning Glass in New York.
