Curtis Jere Geometric Brutalist Op Art Kinetic Wall Piece Polished Brass Steel

About the Item

'Diamonds' by Curtis Jeré, a dynamic wall piece of brass and chromed steel embraces both kinetic and brutalist art to create a piece that celebrates its materials, movement and sound. Created in the studio of Curtis Jeré also known as C. Jeré, a metal working studio founded by artist Curtis Freiler and Jerry Fels in 1963. Known for their use of various metals into decorative and attractive sculptures and wall pieces, in both figurative and abstract designs. This piece, with its pared back, minimal composition of bent squares, differentiated solely by their material, of polished brass or chrome, hung on a grid work, allow each square to swing and rotate independently. Like a wind-chime, the piece reacts to its surrounding environment, slowly moving and chiming. Its reflective square, with faceted front, creates wonderful light effects, as each face creates a unique reflection, like a warm disco ball. Being made from both warm and cold metals, this piece can be used in diverse environments, a strong graphic at the end of a hall, hung above a fireplace or as a feature in a dining room. It can be hung on the diagonal or square, providing multiple way of presenting and hanging.
