About the Item

Poorex Face Rattan mask decorative object by Nów Designed by Poorex Face Dimensions: D 15 x W 48 x H 100 cm Materials: beechwood and rattan The Poorex Face studio is a turn to nature and craftsmanship after many years of experimental design activity as part of the Poorex studio. The turning point for Bartosz Mucha was the construction of a summer house/studio at the Roznowski Lake, where he created the first series of masks made of the remaining construction wood. This prompted him to purchase a large barn in Królówka near Nowy Wisnicz, where a carpentry workshop was established to professionalise the sculptural work process. The effects of the activities are also, among others, stools/stumps and other seats and utility forms. Bartosz Mucha passes on his design experience to students of art universities, the School of Form and the Academy of Fine Arts [ASP] in Warsaw. Nów: We are artisans and promoters of handcrafted production. We come from different parts of Poland, we have different professional experiences. We draw from tradition, although we do not strictly adhere to artisanal rules. We choose the freedom to experiment - with form, material, and the production process. We spread knowledge about contemporary Polish crafts in the country and abroad. We represent the interests of craftsmen in contacts with public institutions and business. Together, we create the New Moon Association. New Craft - an organization of modern craftsmen. Originators of the New Moon Association. New Craft are Olga Milczynska and Malgorzata Herman from Projekt Pracownie.
