A beautiful abstract ceramic bird by Børge Jørgensen 'no 3800'. Ceramic cock figurine with a glaze by Sven A. Jensen. Manufactured by Söholm Ceramics, Bornholm, Denmark. This is a rare find.
Jorgensen was a Danish Postwar & Contemporary sculptor who was born in 1926. He became more known later for his brutalist metal abstract sculptures. It is 17 x 8.5 x 4.5 cm (6.69'x3.34'x1.75') and and in an excellent condition.
Søholm Keramik (Ceramics), Denmark was founded by Edvard Christian Sonne and Herman Sonne Wolffsen in 1835. It has been one of Denmark’s leading manufacturers of modern ceramics both of household goods and art pottery.
