About the Item
A Unique Rare Pair Of Chinese Metal Jade And Stone Elephant Censers. Beautiful censers are made of embossed and parcel gilt metal, possible a low grade silver. The figural elephants carry urns on their backs and both elephant and their urns are inlaid with jade, turquoise and coral cabochons. There are stone cups at end of trunk, tusks, and rings. Such Censers (incense holders) were prized as decorative objects and used in some rituals of the era.
