Vintage Geometric Composition by Waldo Balart, Lithograph
Located in AMSTERDAM, NH
Geometric composition signed by Waldo Balart (61 x 73cm), 1989, lithograph. Balart often works at the intersection of physics and art. In his series "Structure of Light," Balart for example dissects the light and various colours. "Dessarollo de cel" means development of a cel. Balart studied political science and economics in Havana before moving to New York, where he pursued an art education at the Museum of Modern Art. His works are included in the permanent collections of institutions such as the Museum of Modern Art, Centro de Arte Reina Sofía in Madrid and the Mondriaanhuis in the Netherlands. He was particularly inspired by the work of Josef Albers, who would introduce Balart to the Bauhaus movement. Balart also looked toward Kasmir Malevich and Piet Mondriaan...
