About the Item

Large Pair Of Murano Glass Cockatiels Or Parrots Attributed To Barovier & Toso. This lovely pair of Murano glass cockatiels, parrots or birds were executed in several colors with internal gold inclusions with attention to detail. Our beautiful Italian Murano glass sculptures are the perfect accessory on a cocktail table, console or bookshelf. Multicolored Murano glass sculptures require experienced artists. Unfortunately the labels are long gone on this pair, so they are unmarked however clearly executed by a master glass blower. These were acquired out of an estate in Venice. Stunning! Barovier & Toso is the oldest glass company in Italy and its history dates back to as far as 1295. In 1884 Giovanni Barovier and his nephews Guiseppe, Benvenuto and Benedetto purchase the Salviati Dr. Antonio glass firm after Salviati decides to separate from the glass production business.
