About the Item
Burmese Buddha Sculpture. A Dry Lacquer Buddha Head, late 19th early 20th century, Shan Period 1315 - 1948, composed of wood, wood ash, Thayo, dry lacquer with gilding set on wooden block. Serene wonderful example of Burmese Shan Period Buddhist Folk Art head of Buddha. Noted in Shan style a triangular face with a broad forehead, eyebrows arched high over narrowly opened eyes, a pointed nose with finial triangular nostrils, pursed thin lips, large and elongated ears, short neck with Ushnisha Finial. In very good condition. The statue can be rotated 360 degrees on its stand to allow for various angles.
