About the Item
This bronze print with a brown patina, titled "Capture" and signed by the French sculptor Emmanuel Villanis (1858-1914), is a poignant work from the late 19th century.
Villanis, known for his expressive and detailed sculptures, captured the emotion and vulnerability of his subject in this piece.
The work depicts the bust of a restrained woman, her gaze expressing deep emotion.
The meticulous details of the sculpture, from the facial features to the restraining ties, are a testament to Villanis's exceptional talent.
Each curve and line is crafted with a precision that brings the scene to life, making the whole both realistic and moving.
The bronze's brown patina adds a dimension of depth and warmth to the sculpture, accentuating the shadows and reliefs for a striking visual effect. This work is a perfect example of Villanis's figurative art, where attention to detail and the ability to convey emotion are paramount.
"Capture" is a piece that transcends time, recalling the beauty and complexity of human emotions.
It embodies not only the artist's craftsmanship, but also the spirit of an era marked by great artistic sensitivity.
A true treasure for art lovers and collectors.

Emmanuel Villanis
Emmanuel Villanis (b. 1858 d. 1914). Originally from Lille, France and of Italian descent, the artist studied in Turin at the Accademia Albertina, under master sculptor Odoardo Tabacchi, before settling in Paris in 1885. A prolific producer of busts during his career, he enjoyed international acclaim for his work.
