A museum quality French white marble roundel relief of Emperor Napoleon III, circa 1860. The quality of this marble sculpture of Napoleon III is truly phenomenal. This is a one of a kind collectors piece. The Emperor is sculpted in high relief and in profile, and sits in a custom made easel wood presentation frame. Engraved Emperor Napoleon II and Empereur Des Francais. Marble roundel: 31" diameter Custom frame easel: 45" high x 37" wide x 2" deep Provenance: Ronald Wright, Brussels, 1998; Collection of Christopher Forbes (VP of Forbes Publication), New York, New York, 1998-2016; Osenat Auction, Paris, March 5, 2016, lot 277; Collection of the Count of Raban, 2016-present. Overall very good condition with a few faint surface scratches. With slight soiling/discoloration. Frame with a few surface scratches.
